                                                                         WELCOME TO CRETE

Do you enjoy walking?
                                           Swimming?
                                                                 What about climbing?

Hi.   My name is Manolis Mavrakis and I would like to welcome you to CRETE, a place where you can do all of the above.

The magic starts when you set foot on CRETE, Greece's largest and southern most island.
CRETE, a wonderful and dramatic island where you find a combination of wild landscape,
endless mountains, deep blue sea, hills covered with olive trees (some 30 million, many
of them over 2000 years old), small historic villages and towns.  An island where the European civilization began some 8000 years ago (around 5000BC the first agriculture appeared) and where the MINOAN civilization existed some 4000+ years ago.

Any discussion of Crete, without mentioning its people will be incomplete. They, with their cultural wealth and traditions, together with the Cretan landscape, will create eternal memories.  Friendly to visitors and very hospitable always willing to share.  Cretan hospitality "philoxenia" which meens "friends of strangers" is legendary...

Come and join me and together we will walk all those villages and towns where you will
be introduced to CRETAN culture and the history of CRETE.
